UP Government Offers 50% Bus Fare Discount for NEET Students

Mumbai, June 19: The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, has announced significant support for NEET candidates ahead of the upcoming examination. In a review meeting, CM Yogi instructed police and administrative officials to ensure robust preparations for the NEET exam, which is set to be conducted again on June 21 due to a previous paper leak incident.

In a bid to ease the financial burden on students, CM Yogi declared a 50% discount on bus fares for candidates traveling to the exam centers. Students can avail of this discount by showing their admit cards while using buses operated by the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation.

Additionally, the government has arranged temporary accommodation for candidates traveling from other districts to take the exam. Approximately 350,000 candidates from Uttar Pradesh are expected to participate in this crucial examination.

To ensure the integrity of the exam process, all operations related to the examination, including question setting, translation, printing, packaging, storage, transportation, and distribution, will be closely monitored. The Indian Air Force will be utilized to transport all materials related to the question paper.

Officials are also keeping a vigilant eye on social media platforms and messaging services to prevent the spread of fake question papers and misinformation.

To further enhance security, live monitoring through facial recognition, biometric checks, and CCTV will be implemented at examination centers to prevent any potential paper leaks.

The NEET UG exam was initially scheduled for May 12 but was canceled due to reported irregularities. The National Testing Agency (NTA) received information about the discrepancies on May 7, leading to the cancellation and rescheduling of the exam.
