UP Police Constable Exam Begins Amid Paper Leak Rumors

Mumbai, June 8: The Uttar Pradesh Police Constable Recruitment Exam 2026 commenced today, with over 28 lakh candidates expected to participate. Just two days prior to the exam, the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) issued a warning against false rumors of a paper leak circulating on social media platforms.

The written examination for direct recruitment to the posts of Reserve Civil Police and equivalent positions is scheduled for June 8, 9, and 10, 2026. To maintain the integrity of the exam, the UP Police Recruitment Board is closely monitoring information shared on platforms like WhatsApp, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Telegram.

On June 6, a Telegram channel named UP Exam Paper spread rumors about a paper leak for the UP Police Recruitment 2026 exam. Allegations have also surfaced that this channel misled candidates into paying for access to leaked papers. The board has declared these claims as false and stated that appropriate action will be taken against those spreading misinformation. An FIR was filed against the UP Exam Paper channel at the Hussain Ganj police station in Lucknow on June 6.

The exams will take place across more than 1,100 centers statewide, with the first shift running from 10 AM to 12 PM and the second shift from 3 PM to 5 PM. Candidates are advised to focus on their exam preparations and stay updated with announcements from the recruitment board.

In a bid to facilitate candidates traveling for the exam, the Northern Railway has announced special trains running from June 8 to June 10, 2026.

To ensure a fair examination process, over 30,000 CCTV cameras and drones will monitor the exam centers. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has also announced a 50% discount on bus fares for candidates traveling to the exam.

In related news, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has canceled the NEET (UG) 2026 exam amid paper leak allegations, with plans to reschedule it for June 21, 2026. Additionally, the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has canceled the Assistant Education Development Officer (AEDO) exam due to irregularities, with multiple FIRs filed across six districts.
