Commonwealth Games 2030 to Include Yogasana

Ahmedabad, May 28: The Central Sports Ministry has announced that ‘Yogasana’ will be included in the Commonwealth Games 2030. This decision was revealed by Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya during the inauguration of the World Yogasana Championship 2026 in Ahmedabad.

The championship will feature various categories, including Traditional Yoga, Artistic Yoga, Performance Yoga, and Team Competitions. In addition to Yogasana, India is also considering the inclusion of other indigenous sports such as Kabaddi, Kho Kho, and Mallakhamb in the Commonwealth Games.

The first World Yogasana Championship is scheduled to take place from June 4 to 8 in Ahmedabad, with participation from over 75 countries and more than 500 athletes. Competitors will participate in junior, youth, and special categories, adhering to international regulations.

India is set to host the Commonwealth Games 2030, marking a significant milestone for the country in the realm of sports.
