John Turnus Appointed as New Apple CEO

Mumbai, April 22: Apple Inc. has announced the appointment of John Turnus as its new CEO, effective September 1, 2026. Turnus, who currently serves as the Senior Vice President of Hardware Engineering, will succeed Tim Cook, who will transition to the role of Executive Chairman of the Board. This decision was unanimously approved by the Board of Directors.

John Turnus joined Apple in 2001 and has played a pivotal role in the development of key products including the iPhone, iPad, and Mac software. Tim Cook, who has been with Apple since 1998 and became CEO in 2011, has significantly increased the company’s market value from $350 billion to $4 trillion during his tenure. Under Cook’s leadership, Apple also achieved an annual revenue growth from $108 billion to over $416 billion by 2025.

In related news, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan is on a three-day official visit to the UK, marking the first visit by an Indian CDS to the country. General Chauhan is set to meet with UK Chief of Defence Staff Richard Knighton to discuss military cooperation and intelligence sharing. This visit aims to enhance the interoperability and operational cooperation between India and the UK.

Additionally, India and South Korea signed four Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) on April 20, focusing on sports, culture, and small and medium enterprises. This agreement was reached during discussions between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and South Korean President Lee Jae-myung in New Delhi.
