Lucknows Pranav Bhaskar Tiwari Awarded £83 Lakh Chevening Scholarship for Studies in London

Lucknow, September 9: Pranav Bhaskar Tiwari from Lucknow has been selected for the prestigious Chevening-Atal Bihari Vajpayee Scholarship, amounting to approximately ₹83 lakh. This scholarship will enable him to pursue a Master’s degree in Public Administration with a focus on Development, Technology, and Innovation Policy at University College London (UCL).

Pranav began his in law and is now preparing to gain expertise in artificial intelligence (AI) and technology policy. His success is attributed to the unwavering support of his parents, Geeta Tiwari and Om Prakash Bhaskar. After initially facing challenges in gaining admission to La Martiniere, Lucknow, his mother persisted for nearly six months, while his father ensured that limited financial resources and average grades did not hinder their children’s future. This family ethos of valuing education has inspired Pranav and his siblings to strive for success.

Pranav states, “My mother taught me to remain steadfast, and my father instilled the belief that circumstances or grades do not determine your future. I am a product of my parents’ relentless efforts; sitting idle is not an option for me.”

As a first-generation lawyer, Pranav transitioned from legal studies to technology policy. His experience with Amazon Web Services provided him with international exposure to topics related to AI, digital policy, and emerging technologies. During his studies at UCL, he aims to deepen his understanding of the interconnections between technology, innovation, and public policy.

Pranav views this scholarship not merely as an opportunity for education abroad but as a means to connect the opportunities from Uttar Pradesh with global experiences. His goal is to return to India after completing his studies and contribute to strengthening the technological and AI frameworks in Uttar Pradesh.

He remarks, “Going to London may be an achievement, but true success will be when the knowledge gained there benefits Uttar Pradesh and India.”
