
Mumbai, May 3: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that the NEET UG 2026 exam will take place today, with over 22.79 lakh candidates registered to participate. Successful candidates will gain admission to MBBS courses in medical colleges across the country.
The NTA has also issued a dress code and essential guidelines for the exam. Candidates are advised to wear comfortable footwear, such as slippers or low-heeled shoes, and to leave behind any jewelry, including bangles and watches.

Security Measures:
Before entering the exam centers, candidates will undergo thorough frisking. Biometric attendance and CCTV surveillance will monitor the entire examination process to ensure security and integrity.
NEET UG 2026: Qualifying Marks:
– General: 50% qualifying marks
– SC, ST, OBC: 40%
– PWD (General category): 45%
Last year, approximately 20.8 lakh candidates appeared for the NEET UG exam, which was conducted on May 4 across more than 5,000 centers nationwide.
