Mumbai, April 23: India has dispatched 2 tons of life-saving medicines to Tanzania, aimed at enhancing healthcare in the East African nation. The shipment was delivered to the Shri Hindu Mandal Hospital in Dar es Salaam on April 21.
The medicines include essential equipment such as oxygen concentrators, suction units, oximeters, microscopes, and stethoscopes, along with inhalers, syringes, gloves, bandages, and wheelchairs. This initiative is part of India’s ongoing commitment to improve health services and foster cooperation between the two countries.
India’s High Commissioner, Bishwadeep Day, handed over the medical supplies to hospital trustee Kaushik L. Ramaiya. The delivery is expected to enhance the hospital’s diagnostic and treatment capabilities, ultimately improving patient care.
This aid is a continuation of India’s Vaccine Maitri initiative launched in 2021 and is part of the India-Africa Forum Summit framework, reinforcing India’s role as a partner in energy, trade, and maritime cooperation with African nations.
