Late Entry Controversy at IAS Exam Center in Ajmer

Ajmer, May 24: A controversy has erupted at an IAS pre-exam center in Ajmer, Rajasthan, where candidates were allegedly allowed late entry. The incident occurred at Savitri School in the Civil Lines area, where a police officer reportedly permitted several candidates to enter the examination hall after the official entry time had passed.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducted the civil services preliminary examination today at various centers in Rajasthan, including Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur, and Ajmer. According to reports, the entry time for the first shift was set for 9 AM, but candidates were still being allowed entry through a secondary gate after this deadline.

A video surfaced showing a police officer facilitating entry for a female candidate, while another candidate from Kanpur, who arrived ten minutes late, was denied entry despite her requests. Witnesses outside the center claimed that more than three candidates were allowed inside after the official cutoff time, with the main gate closing promptly at 9 AM.

The examination coordinator stated that an investigation into the matter is underway. Security personnel were deployed at the centers, and the exams are being held in two shifts, with the first shift running from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM and the second from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM.

This incident raises concerns about the fairness and integrity of the examination process, as candidates who arrived on time were not granted the same leniency.
