Noel Tata Resigns as Voltas Chairman Amid Key Developments

Mumbai, July 2: In a significant corporate shift, Noel Tata has announced his resignation from the position of Chairman at Voltas during the company’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on June 30. Tata, who will turn 70 in November this year, is stepping down in accordance with the Tata Group’s corporate governance policy, which mandates retirement for executive directors at the age of 65 and non-executive directors at 70.

Noel Tata has been at the helm of Voltas since 2017 and has also recently resigned from the chairmanship of Trent, the retail arm of the Tata Group. His departure from Voltas marks a notable transition for the company, which is a leading engineering and air conditioning firm in India, established in September 1954.

As part of his retirement, Tata will also step down from several other prominent Tata Group companies by the end of this year, including Titan, Tata Investment Corporation, Tata Steel, and Tata International.
