Sikar, May 13: A significant investigation has been launched into the NEET exam paper leak, with multiple arrests made, including Rakesh Mandawaria, who operated a consultancy office in Sikar. Sources indicate that the leak involved a mastermind connected to a printing press in Nashik.
The leak, disguised as ‘guess papers’, reportedly contained over 120 questions identical to those in the original NEET exam. These papers circulated across ten states, including Rajasthan, just three weeks before the exam. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has taken over the case, with a team arriving at the Special Operation Group (SOG) headquarters in Jaipur on Tuesday night.
Investigations revealed that Shubham Khairnar leaked the papers from the Nashik printing press and sold them in Pune before they spread to other states through Telegram groups. The papers were initially sold for ₹30 lakh to a gang in Gurugram.
Rakesh Mandawaria, the consultant from Sikar, is accused of distributing these papers to students and coaching faculty, raising concerns about how many students were affected. The investigation has also uncovered that one of the accused brothers has political connections, and their family had four children selected for NEET last year.
The situation escalated when a student sent the leaked paper to a physics faculty member at a coaching center in Sikar, leading to a police complaint and subsequent investigation by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
As the CBI and SOG continue their inquiries, the focus remains on uncovering the full extent of the network involved in this scandal.
