Patna, June 10: Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary has made a significant decision aimed at enhancing the discipline within the state’s education system. Through a post on the social media platform ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), he issued strict directives regarding the operation of coaching institutes in the state.
According to the new regulations, no coaching institute in Bihar will be allowed to conduct classes during the designated hours of school and college. The government’s objective is to ensure that students do not skip their primary school or college education for coaching classes. This decision comes in the wake of a dispute between the operators of two major coaching institutes in Patna, Khan Sir and Roshan Anand.
In prioritizing the interests of students, the education department has been instructed to implement the following key measures:
– All coaching institutes must provide details of their enrolled students to the relevant district administration.
The decision to regulate coaching classes stems from the aftermath of the Bihar Police recruitment exam results announced on May 27, where several coaching institutes claimed success for their students. Following the announcement, Khan Sir’s Khan Global Studies and the director of Gyaan Bindu Coaching, Roshan Anand, initiated a promotional campaign celebrating the achievements of their successful candidates.
Both coaching centers organized award ceremonies for their successful students, leading to a flurry of posters, hoardings, and banners across the city. However, tensions escalated when some employees of Khan Global Studies allegedly placed their promotional banners over those of Gyaan Bindu Coaching, resulting in incidents of vandalism, stone-pelting, and gunfire.
Additionally, the article touches upon the concept of “dummy schools,” which are institutions where regular attendance is not mandatory. These schools collaborate with coaching institutes to reduce the academic load on students, allowing them more time to focus on entrance exam preparations. Dummy schools are particularly popular among students preparing for competitive exams like JEE and NEET.
This new regulation aims to create a more structured and focused educational environment for students in Bihar.
